Responsibilities
- Grade homework assignments and/or course projects for Physics 430
- Review and evaluate student work in accordance with grading guidelines provided by the instructor.
- Assist the professor with grading-related tasks as needed.
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality when handling student coursework.
- Work up to four hours per week in support of the course.
- Perform other grading-related duties as assigned by Professor Andrew Jordan.
Required Qualifications
- Little to no prior experience required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Physics 430 coursework and concepts.
- Proficiency in Canvas or the ability to effectively navigate and utilize the learning management system.
- Completion of FERPA training or the ability to complete FERPA training prior to employment.
- Ability to learn and follow departmental processes and procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate student work accurately and consistently.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Physics 430 or a comparable upper-division physics course.
- Advanced understanding of physics concepts and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to apply subject matter knowledge to support accurate and consistent grading.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
