Role overview

Structural Site Engineer representing Buro Happold on ongoing and future sites, primarily in Bengaluru with potential work across India.

The role supports complex building projects for an engineering consultancy and requires substantial site and design office experience.

Technical site responsibilities

  • Advise on building structure matters affecting construction progress and quality.
  • Review coordinated contractor shop drawings against issued-for-construction drawings and design intent.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor calculations for permanent works elements and connections.
  • Review structural and civil shop drawings with building services engineers.
  • Review construction method statements, test results, and material submittals.
  • Assess structural and civil material proposals against technical performance requirements.
  • Attend meetings on structural and civil technical matters.
  • Review compliance with specified technical requirements.
  • Respond to RFIs with design teams.
  • Write site visit reports and maintain work logs.
  • Provide site insights for technical specification updates.
  • Visit multiple sites and represent Buro Happold at site meetings.

Skills and experience

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering is specified.
  • At least 10 years of experience and a proven, demonstrable track record are required.
  • Experience ensuring site work quality and compliance with technical requirements is required.
  • Broad site knowledge across a wide range of projects is required.
  • Technical and project leadership experience with sustained successful delivery is required.
  • Experience on complex, large, and tall building projects in India, the Middle East, or another international location is required.
  • Design office experience is required.
