Senior Engineer - PDM - Structures

Position Overview

Project Delivery

• Deliver projects within agreed budgets and address budgetary concerns.
• Draft fee proposals and negotiate additional client fees where appropriate.
• Represent the firm and provide consultancy advice to clients, architects, and collaborators.
• Attend and chair meetings with project stakeholders and government agencies.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Drive project performance, service delivery, and technical and commercial outcomes.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Lead design, analysis, and consultancy on projects under project leadership.
• Coach, mentor, and support junior employees.
• Build internal and external networks to support bids and repeat work.
• Work across disciplines with specialists, architects, clients, and the wider project team.

Technical Competence

• Develop and document creative solutions while considering the requirements of other disciplines.
• Produce reports, presentations, models, and drawings.
• Apply and improve internal quality assurance procedures.
• Maintain continuing professional development.
• Improve productivity through enhanced processes, procedures, and systems.

Experience and Qualifications

• Typically 6+ years of technical and project design delivery experience is expected.
• Excellent business communication and proficiency in a global matrix organisation are required.
• A Civil or Structures Engineering degree is required.
• Professional accreditation from a recognised and relevant organisation is required.
• Comparable lead designer or project manager experience on large, complex, multidisciplinary projects is required.
• Strong facilitation, team leadership, communication, regulatory understanding, and external networking capability are required.
• International project experience is preferred.
