Quality Oversight & Site Supervision
Monitor and inspect structural works on-site, including excavation, foundations, concrete works, reinforcement, structural steel, and related activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Review and verify contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, quality control procedures, and checklists related to structural works.
Witness and verify field and laboratory testing activities, including concrete slump tests, compressive strength tests, reinforcement inspections, weld inspections, and other structural quality tests.
Conduct routine surveillance inspections and identify any non-conformities, deviations, or workmanship issues.
Documentation & Reporting
Review QA/QC documentation submitted by contractors, including MIRs, WIRs, NCRs, test reports, inspection records, and as-built drawings.
Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and daily site observations related to structural activities.
Prepare and submit quality status reports highlighting project compliance, quality concerns, and corrective actions.
Participate in QA/QC meetings, progress meetings, and site inspections with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and the client project team to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
Ensure all structural works comply with approved designs, project specifications, local authority requirements, and relevant international standards.
Support the resolution of structural quality issues through technical reviews and coordination with the engineering team.
Verify compliance with applicable codes and standards such as ACI, ASTM, BS, Eurocodes, and UAE regulations.
Corrective & Preventive Actions
Review and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Identify potential quality risks and proactively recommend mitigation measures to the Project Manager and QA/QC Manager.
Monitor close-out of quality observations and ensure all corrective actions are effectively implemented.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 6–10 years of relevant QA/QC experience in building construction projects, with at least 3–5 years focused on structural works.
- Strong experience in reinforced concrete structures, structural steel works, foundations, and associated construction activities.
- Sound knowledge of structural inspection procedures, testing requirements, and quality control systems.
- Familiarity with international construction standards and local UAE regulations.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is preferred.
- Certification such as CSWIP, BGAS, Lead Auditor, or other QA/QC-related qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Excellent technical reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to quality excellence.
