Structural Engineer - Concrete (Site)

Role Overview

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in engineering consultancy firms.
• Relevant experience in steel and concrete structure design and analysis.
• Qualified graduate engineer in civil or structural engineering.
• A master's degree or chartered engineering qualification is an added advantage.

Site and Project Duties

• Review structural shop drawings, calculations, method statements, and requests for information.
• Monitor reinforcement, formwork, concrete works, and structural steel against approved designs.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve design issues with practical engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review inspection reports, authority inspections, and contractor variation orders.
• Supervise junior engineers and technicians when required.
• Participate in project meetings, provide progress updates, and assist with proposals and project delivery.

Engineering Function

• Review deliverables produced by engineers and technicians at key project stages.
• Apply knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, construction techniques, procurement, risk assessment, and claim assessment.
• Support team quality management and maintain competence in CAD standards and 3D working.
• Use ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAFE, and PROKON.

Business and Company Duties

• Develop a network of contacts on each contract and maintain strong relationships with site and design colleagues.
• Contribute to company procedures, task groups, team meetings, and procedure reviews.
• Apply company policies relating to health and safety, quality, and training.

QHSE Responsibilities

• Implement and coordinate QHSE procedures in the workplace.
• Comply with local regulatory authority guidelines and laws.
• Report QHSE incidents to the relevant internal department and authorities when required.
• Follow client and contractor QHSE requirements and complete site induction before mobilization.
