Job Overview

  • The Stock Controller Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing and managing the stock control operations, ensuring that inventory levels are accurately maintained and optimized throughout the organization.
  • This role involves leading a team of stock controllers, implementing best practices in stock management, and facilitating smooth operations within the warehouse and distribution centers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and mentor the stock control team to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures.
  • Develop and implement stock control processes that promote inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits of stock levels and investigate discrepancies between physical and recorded stock.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to track stock levels and generate reports for analysis.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g. purchasing, logistics, sales) to ensure availability of stock and support sales initiatives.
  • Manage stock movements, including receiving, storage, and distribution, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Identify trends, make recommendations for stock optimization, and report on stock related KPIs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for stock replenishment and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to stock management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in stock control or inventory management, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of stock control principles and best practices.
  • Experience with inventory management software and systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
