About the Role
ISS International SpA seeks an experienced Static Mechanical Engineer for a manufacturing facility in Qatar. The role involves design validation, asset integrity management, and engineering support for static equipment and piping systems.

Responsibilities
- Review and approve design calculations, data sheets, drawings for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks
- Generate P&IDs, PMS, MTOs per international standards
- Perform piping flexibility and stress analysis using CAESAR II
- Execute plant modifications via MOC protocol
- Define technical scope for static equipment during turnarounds
- Develop inspection and repair procedures for high pressure equipment
- Supervise critical repair activities on site
- Support Fitness for Service evaluations and remaining life assessments
- Support root cause analysis on equipment failures
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, RBI workshops
- Coach junior and mid level mechanical engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in heavy process plants (chemical, petrochemical, refinery)
- Experience in fertilizer industry (Ammonia, Urea, Nitrates) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in PV Elite, CAESAR II, Nozzle PRO
- Knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div 1 & 2, ASME B31.3, API 650/620, TEMA
- Excellent English communication skills

Position Summary
- Responsible for high level technical expertise, design validation, asset integrity management, and engineering support for all static equipment and piping systems within the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve design calculations, data sheets, drawings, and technical specifications for modifications or new procurement of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and tanks.
- Generate and review P&IDs, PMS, and MTOs to meet international standards.
- Route critical process, utility, and offsite pipelines.
- Perform piping flexibility and stress analysis.
- Execute plant modifications via MOC protocol.
- Prepare and approve technical deliverables for replacement projects.
- Define technical scope for critical static equipment during turnarounds.
- Develop inspection and repair procedures for specialized high pressure equipment.
- Supervise critical repair activities on site.
- Collaborate with QA/QC and Inspection teams.
- Support Fitness for Service evaluations and remaining life assessments.
- Support root cause analysis on mechanical static equipment failures.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in heavy continuous process chemical plant, petrochemical facility, or refinery.
- Experience in fertilizer industry (Ammonia, Urea, Nitrates) strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing capital equipment replacement projects and large scale turnarounds.
- Excellent fluent English communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in PV Elite, CAESAR II, and Nozzle PRO.
- Comprehensive working command of ASME Section VIII Div 1 & 2, ASME B31.3, API 650/620, and TEMA Standards.
