The Data and Storage Services team provides infrastructure for transactional, analytical, streaming, and data platform workloads.
The Online Storage team manages self-service OLTP databases including MySQL, DynamoDB, distributed SQL systems, and Redis.
The Staff Software Engineer will drive the technical roadmap for relational and key-value database infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy and connect it to critical business-impacting projects.
- Design and build multi-region, horizontally scalable, globally available datastore components.
- Develop database control planes and automate migrations, disaster recovery, sharding, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, SRE, design, and analytics teams.
- Own operations and availability through monitoring, alerting, playbooks, testing, and on-call practices.
- Set code review and design standards and develop team talent through feedback and guidance.
