About the Role

Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses
- Develop and modify individualized care plans in collaboration with patient, family, and healthcare team
- Implement care plans using evidence based interventions and perform treatments and procedures
- Administer medications according to policies and procedures
- Provide health teaching and promote self management
- Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes and revise plan as needed
- Document all care and modifications in patient health record
- Participate in evidence based practice and research activities
- Supervise practical nurses, junior staff, and student nurses
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent
- Valid/current national nursing license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience post qualification in appropriate setting
- Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia (if degree is not a Bachelor's)

Job Purpose
- The Staff Nurse is accountable for coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care.
- Supports professional nursing practice across the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs.
- Adheres to and promotes the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and UAE.
Responsibilities
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/issues
- Planning and Outcomes Identification: Identifies expected outcomes and develops a plan addressing health promotion, restoration, and maintenance
- Implementation and Coordination of Care Delivery: Implements plan of care using evidence based interventions
- Health Teaching and Health Promotion: Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to patient condition and learning needs
- Evaluation: Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes
- Evidence based Practice and Research: Integrates evidence and research findings into practice
- Leadership: Demonstrates leadership behaviors in practice settings
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum 2 years clinical experience post qualification in appropriate setting (waived for UAE nursing graduates after internship)
- Required: Bachelor degree in Nursing OR Degree in Nursing (minimum 2 years) AND Registration as RN from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia AND valid/current national license AND BLS
- Desired: ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty
