Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and complete admission assessments
- Monitor and document the patient’s condition and the effectiveness of care and/or interventions
- Establish and implement a care plan based on sound nursing theory, scientific principles, professional judgment and individual patient needs
- Evaluate and update the patient’s plan of care to facilitate the achievement of planned and expected outcomes
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol
- Assess for and plan the educational needs of the patient
- Provide teaching and educational material to patients and/or families
- Monitor and resolve customer service issues and provide feedback regarding satisfaction results to Nursing Leadership
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patients and families
- Participate in clinical nursing research and support CCAD research initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program
- Minimum of two (2) years post graduate experience in an acute care setting
- Valid and current national license
- BLS required from AHA or equivalent
- ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty required from AHA or equivalent
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience with electronic medical record is strongly preferred
- Ability to speak and write in Arabic is preferred

Job Summary
- This position is responsible for providing general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of evidence based nursing procedures and practices to patients of all ages on assigned nursing unit.
- This position is also responsible for demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth, development and psychosocial needs of patients being treated.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs accurate and complete admission assessments

- Evaluates and updates the patient’s plan of care to facilitate the achievement of planned and expected outcomes
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol
- Assesses for and plans the educational needs of the patient
- Provides teaching and educational material to patients and/or families, which may include diagnosis, tests and procedures, safe and proper use of equipment, use of medications, injury prevention and nutritional needs
- Monitors and resolves customer service issues and provides feedback regarding satisfaction results to Nursing Leadership
- Maintains confidentiality regarding patients and families
- Interacts with patients, families and other visitors in a courteous, helpful manner
- Facilitates the incorporation of patient safety and Magnet principles into clinical nursing care
- Participates in clinical nursing research and supports CCAD research initiatives
Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required
- Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program is required
- Minimum of two (2) years post graduate experience in an acute care setting is required
- Valid and current national license is required
- BLS is required from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must be obtained within 3 months of employment
- ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty is required, from AHA or an equivalent organization; or must obtain within 6 months of employment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience with electronic medical record is strongly preferred
- Ability to speak and write in Arabic is preferred
