Staff DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Platform Architecture and Leadership

• Design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, secure, and fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure.
• Drive infrastructure decisions, modernization, automation, cloud-native practices, and platform reliability.
• Mentor DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering teams and lead AI adoption for engineering productivity.
• Participate in infrastructure, architecture, and security reviews.

Security and Reliability

• Drive secure and compliant deployments aligned with PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and related standards.
• Lead incident response, outage management, root-cause analysis, post-mortems, and SRE practices.
• Ensure security, reliability, scalability, observability, monitoring, logging, and tracing across environments.

Collaboration and Optimization

• Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, Data, and QA teams on the platform roadmap.
• Translate business and engineering requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Manage stakeholder communication and coordinate cross-functional planning and execution.
• Drive capacity planning, performance tuning, cloud cost optimization, and deployment pipeline improvements.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent B.E., B.Tech, MCA, or M.Tech qualification.
• At least 10 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
• Strong experience with large-scale distributed production systems in product or fintech organizations.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure and services including ECS, EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Kinesis, WAF, SSM, and Secrets Manager.
• Deep understanding of Linux production environments, distributed systems, networking, system internals, and asynchronous architectures.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Go, Python, or Shell scripting.
• Expertise with Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation and with CI/CD and GitOps tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, centralized logging, Docker, and container image security.
• Experience managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis at scale, together with microservices, load balancing, API gateways, and low-latency services.

Preferred Skills

• Prior fintech or payments experience, Kubernetes production experience, or blockchain, stablecoin, or cryptocurrency infrastructure experience is advantageous.
• AWS cloud certifications, familiarity with PCI-DSS, SOC 2, OWASP, static code analysis, or security tooling is advantageous.
• Exposure to ClickHouse, dbt, or high-growth startup environments is advantageous.
