Role Overview
Intel’s Foundry Back-End Automation team is hiring a senior automation systems integration engineer.
The role supports technology development and high-volume semiconductor manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and deploy automation solutions across wafer preparation, die preparation, and assembly test manufacturing.
- Interface with semiconductor manufacturing equipment and automated manufacturing execution systems.
- Translate business needs into automation solutions with manufacturing, engineering, IT, process, and quality partners.
- Maintain software architecture for scalability, robustness, and maintainability.
- Lead root-cause analysis and system-level debugging for complex integration issues.
- Lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices.
- Identify industry trends and opportunities to influence internal product roadmaps.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- At least five years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing automation, systems integration, or a related area.
- At least three years of experience with yield management systems, statistical process control, and automated yield or SPC workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Hands-on experience with SEMI communication standards such as SECS/GEM, EDA/Interface A, or GEM300.
- Strong debugging and data analysis skills in complex production environments.
- Experience in 300mm manufacturing environments.
- MES300 or Workstream experience.
- Experience with automated analytics for scrap reduction, drift detection, and process health monitoring.
- Understanding of factory KPIs including OEE, cycle time, throughput, and yield.
Compensation
- Annual salary range for eligible U.S. jobs is $149,600 to $284,580 USD.
- Individual pay depends on work location, job-related skills, experience, education, and training.
