Role Overview
Principal Engineer role leading CPU circuit design within Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering Group.
The role covers advanced digital circuits for custom blocks and combines technical design, optimization, verification, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design digital circuits for SRAM, register files, memory compilers, custom datapaths, and caches.
- Develop floorplans and optimize circuits for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
- Perform schematic entry, simulation, and verification for functionality and reliability.
- Build, lead, manage, guide, and support a circuit design team across memory and custom digital domains.
- Provide direction on design drawings, test plans, electrical and timing analysis, and component evaluation.
- Improve and automate design flows and methodologies.
- Collaborate with RTL, physical design, verification, architecture, and layout teams to resolve inefficiencies and pre- and post-silicon performance issues.
- Optimize circuits for functionality, robustness, and electrical capabilities.
- Develop and mentor technical leaders and foster innovation.
- Align organizational goals with technical vision and formulate delivery strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field with 17 or more years of circuit design experience.
- Proficiency in circuit design, simulation tools, and methodologies.
- Expertise optimizing circuits for performance, power, area, timing, and yield goals.
- Strong understanding of memory blocks, transistor-level design, and test tools.

- Ability to lead and mentor technical teams and foster collaboration.
- Track record of driving technical strategy and delivering leadership solutions across an organization.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

- The role requires an on-site presence.
- The primary location is Bangalore, India.
