Job Description
Implement CPU physical designs from RTL to GDS and create design databases ready for manufacturing.
Support high-performance, low-power CPU development and contribute to next-generation Intel CPU products.
Physical Design Responsibilities
- Conduct synthesis, place and route, clock tree synthesis, floor planning, static timing analysis, power and clock distribution, reliability, and power and noise analysis.
- Perform formal equivalence, timing, reliability, power integrity, layout, electrical rule, and structural design verification.
- Analyze results and recommend improvements to CPU microarchitectures in collaboration with logic, circuit, architecture, and automation teams.
- Optimize CPU designs for power, frequency, and area.
- Develop and improve physical design methodologies and flow automation.
- Work with EDA vendors to enhance tools for high-speed, low-power synthesizable CPU design.
Technical Qualifications
- Expertise in synthesis, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing tools, timing signoff, formal verification, and low-power design techniques.
- Understanding of submicron process technologies and LVS/DRC layout verification.
- Skills in power estimation, power optimization, and power delivery methodologies.
- Preferred familiarity with Tcl, Perl, or Python for workflow automation.
