Role Description

The Sr.

Finance Specialist will be directly involved in different finance topics from project finance management to monthly entity financial report and planning.

This position will work closely with cross-functional teams outside the Finance domain such as Engineering, Program Management, Procurement and CTO office.

Financial Planning And Analysis

  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, performance reviewing & management reporting related to the business/cluster Monthly forecasting for R&D OPEX/CAPEX and project portfolios
  • Understanding the Financial Planning process related to Engineering projects/R&D Present monthly status reports to EDGE Group as necessary, while understanding the differences between Forecast/Budget vs. Actual

Project Finance And Reporting

  • Prepare financial tracking for R&D projects: budgets, actuals, forecasts, commitments, and cash flow
  • Partner with PMs/engineering leads to set project baselines, cost codes/WBS structures, and cost allocation rules
  • Apply accounting treatment for development costs, ensuring compliance with internal policy and applicable standards (e.g., IAS 38)
  • Ensure accurate classification of costs (labor, materials, subcontractors, tooling, testing, prototyping, trials)
  • Governance and Compliance
  • Support the External Auditor relationship, ensuring compliance with EDGE Group Accounting Policy and IFRS accounting standards
  • Support to EDGE Internal Audit team when it comes to the yearly Internal Audit Plan
  • Adherence and application of EDGE Group Delegation of Authority

Experience And Education Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in R&D, engineering, defense/aerospace, manufacturing, or technology product development
  • Project controlling experience highly desirable (familiar with Rev Rec ASC 606, project accounting, deferred income & contract assets, WBS cost controlling, overhead allocation etc)
  • Experience with Grant Accounting highly desirable (familiar with Grant Income recognition, impairment assessment, etc)
  • CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA designation – preferred but not mandatory

  • Strong communication skills, team player attitude & high adaptability – e.g. able to handle multiple workstreams by learning quickly and finding solutions to different daily issues
  • Strong business modelling & advanced analytics skills to handle complex financial and data modes
  • Ability to be exact, thorough, and attentive to detail, while still meeting deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving, diagnosis and analytical skills
  • Possession of very strong sense of ownership and problem solving/solutioning in complex situations with several stakeholders
  • Strong systems aptitude and proficiency, including expert Excel and Power BI skills
  • Knowledge of SAP 4/Hanna implementation and driving results, objectives and projects to completion
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, performance reviewing & management reporting
