Job Summary

Lead project control activities for major projects and assist the Project Control Manager.

Coordinate closely with other project team members and project stakeholders.

Planning and Schedule Control

  • Ensure EPCC contractors maintain schedules for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Oversee critical path analysis, float management, schedule optimization, and milestone delivery.
  • Coordinate detailed schedules with discipline leads and contractors.
  • Monitor baseline and forecast schedules, identify delays, and recommend recovery plans.
  • Track physical progress, earned value, and schedule performance.
  • Ensure resource histograms, manpower plans, and productivity tracking are maintained.

Cost and Risk Control

  • Provide input for budgets, cash flow projections, cost estimates, contract strategy, tender evaluations, and contractor selection.
  • Develop and maintain the project cost breakdown structure aligned with the work breakdown structure.
  • Analyze cost variances and trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement earned value metrics including CPI and TCPI.
  • Review contractor and vendor invoices against contractual terms, progress, and deliverables.
  • Maintain the change log and support risk assessments, quantitative risk analysis, and the project risk register.

Project Coordination and Closeout

  • Prepare cost input for monthly reports, Steering Committee presentations, and internal reviews.
  • Interface with planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and document control teams.
  • Support claims, variations, extension-of-time requests, strategic decisions, resource allocation, and performance reviews.
  • Lead planning coordination meetings with internal teams, contractors, and consultants.
  • Mentor cost engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of cost control processes and tools.
  • Ensure project closeout with the EPCC contractor in line with project procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 10 years of direct and relevant experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, or with an EPC company.
  • Experience in ammonia and urea major projects is preferred.
