Role overview
Deliver Advanced Distribution Management Systems and Outage Management Systems to electric utilities.
Work as an application engineer across system design, configuration, testing, integration, and customer delivery.
Report to the Outage Management System Manager.
Core responsibilities
- Develop system build plans covering software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment.
- Configure systems to meet customer operational needs and translate requirements into configuration.
- Perform system and acceptance testing with customers.
- Develop scripts and middleware solutions for third-party system integration.
- Troubleshoot complex problems and collaborate with technical experts.
- Lead customer workshops and provide system training.
- Travel to customer sites to deliver, test, and integrate systems.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in applications engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of application engineering work experience.
- Experience working in or with utilities or in an engineering support role, especially in OMS or ADMS.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
