Power Systems Engineer

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and engineering teams on requirements and project plans.
• Design, integrate, test, and commission control systems for electric utilities.
• Install and configure EMS applications including Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, and Optimal Power Flow.
• Troubleshoot product issues and evaluate enhancements with development teams.
• Provide technical support for live customer systems.
• Develop and deliver customer training and provide power system modeling consultation.
• Configure software components to contract specifications and complete customer testing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Coursework in Power Systems Analysis and working knowledge of Power Flow are required.
• Travel of up to 20% domestically and internationally is required.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, leadership, project management, and customer service capabilities are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• A master’s degree focused on Power Systems is preferred.
• Advanced coursework in Power Systems Operation and Control is preferred.
• Experience with State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Optimal Power Flow, and Stability Analysis is preferred.
• Scripting experience with Python or C for automation or problem solving is helpful.

Compensation

• The advertised base salary range is $77,900 to $97,400.
• The role is also eligible for bonus or variable incentive pay and benefits for eligible employees.
