Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery, requirements gathering, and solution architecture for customer opportunities.
  • Create and present designs, BOMs, and implementation plans; lead PoCs when required.
  • Deliver implementations: Nutanix deployments/expansions, virtualization migrations, storage/backup integrations, and cutovers.
  • Serve as escalation resource for complex troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Produce professional documentation (HLD/LLD, as-builts, runbooks, validation checklists).
  • Manage technical risk, scope alignment, and stakeholder expectations throughout engagements.

Required Technical Skills (Must Have)

  • Nutanix: AOS/Prism, cluster deployment/expansion, troubleshooting, sizing/design support.
  • Virtualization: Strong experience with VMware vSphere and/or Nutanix AHV (host config, VM lifecycle, migrations, performance fundamentals).
  • Microsoft Active Directory: AD DS + DNS fundamentals, authentication basics, GPO awareness, service accounts, domain-join dependencies.
  • Storage: SAN/NAS concepts, iSCSI (FC a plus), snapshots/replication, performance + capacity planning.
  • Layer 2 Networking: VLANs, trunking/tagging, STP fundamentals, LACP/port-channels, MTU awareness.
  • Backup & Recovery (MUST): Design/deploy/support backups for virtualized environments. Concepts: RPO/RTO, retention, restore testing, DR runbooks Tools: Veeam / Rubrik / Cohesity / Commvault / Dell PowerProtect (or equivalent)

Nice-to-Have (Plus)

AWS and/or Azure experience (hybrid connectivity and core infrastructure services)

Relevant certifications: Nutanix (NCA/NCP/NCM), VMware (VCP), Microsoft, backup vendor certs

Ideal Background

Experience in MSP/VAR/consulting environments

Strong communication skills: can explain tradeoffs to technical and executive audiences

Proven ability to run engagements end-to-end with minimal supervision
