Job Purpose
Support monthly VAT data collection, review, consolidation, and preparation of FAB Group VAT returns.
Support indirect tax compliance, tax systems enhancements, reconciliations, and related tax administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly transactional reviews and reconciliations for AOV submissions.
- Ensure tax payments, journal entries, and reconciliations comply with internal group policies and procedures.
- Collect indirect tax data from international branches and subsidiaries to identify potential issues.
- Assist with tax team IT projects, reconciliations, and project user acceptance testing.
- Prepare VAT and GST return filing documents, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Support Finance and IT systems projects involving VAT and GST data requirements.
- Identify VAT and GST automation requirements and raise them with the Tax Manager.
- Collect and follow up indirect tax compliance submissions from international sites.
- Support audit data preparation and closure of audit points.
- Keep current with relevant tax technical developments and support internal VAT and GST projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant academic qualifications in accounting or tax are preferred.
- A first- or second-degree qualification is required.
- A professional tax qualification is required.
- At least 3 years of banking industry experience and 2 years of indirect tax VAT or GST compliance experience are required.
- Experience with indirect tax processes and technologies used in tax environments is required.
- Good knowledge of IT systems and tax accounting systems is required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work under pressure are required.
