Role Purpose
Own the execution of flatbed truck transportation auctions and commercial negotiations for finished steel transportation.
Ensure competitive and timely rate capture to support Sales order fulfillment.
Transportation and Auction Activities
- Coordinate flatbed truck capacity to support Sales order fulfillment timelines.
- Conduct monthly UAE flatbed truck transportation auctions on SCH.
- Coordinate with transporters on truck availability and capacity before each auction cycle.
- Conduct commercial negotiations for export flatbed trucks via Fujairah and Sohar.
- Coordinate with export transporters on capacity and route availability.
Rates, Contracts, and Reporting
- Hand over awarded auction rates, transporters, and routes for contract issuance and SAP rate upload.
- Support invoice verification by providing auction-awarded rate data when requested.
- Provide auction rate confirmation for invoice reconciliation.
- Send an auction results summary after each monthly UAE auction and export spot negotiation.
- Improve truck contracts from safety, commercial, and operational perspectives.
Risk and Performance Management
- Report capacity shortfalls that may affect Sales delivery commitments.
- Flag inland trucking capacity constraints affecting vessel discharge or container evacuation planning.
- Communicate transporter performance and capacity issues arising from the auction process.
- Update the Manager on transporter capacity risks or auction irregularities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Hold a shipping and logistics diploma or certificate from a recognized institute.
- Have at least three years of experience in land transportation, logistics, or auction and tender processes.
