About the Role
SEHA in Abu Dhabi seeks a Specialist Emergency Medicine to diagnose and treat patients in the Emergency Department under consultant supervision. The role includes supervising junior medical staff, leading ward rounds, and participating in on-call coverage.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice under supervision of Consultant Physician
- Assist Consultant Physician in supervising activities of junior medical staff
- Lead ward rounds and reassess inpatients and outpatients regularly
- Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion
- Review results of investigations and modify treatment as required
- Liaise with other medical specialties and support services for additional input
- Participate in multi disciplinary meetings to plan effective, safe and holistic care
- Ensure preparation of patients for procedures including obtaining informed consent
- Accept clinically appropriate referrals from Emergency Department, primary care, and other sources
- Participate in out of hours on call coverage on a rotational basis including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Emergency Medicine
- MRCEM/ Fellowship or additional certification in Emergency Medicine
- Minimum of 5 years of post specialization experience in Emergency Medicine
- Valid DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility
- Fluency in Arabic language is preferred

Managerial Responsibilities
- Supports and adheres to all hospital departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Supports and participates in the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and productivity review processes.
- Assists Consultant staff in ensuring adequate medical coverage within the Division at all times.
- Attends Divisional meetings as invited.
- Supports reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents.
- Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by Consultant Staff.
Clinical Duties
- Under supervision of Consultant Physician, diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice.
- Assists Consultant Physician in supervising activities of junior medical staff and jointly assumes responsibility for their care.
- Complies with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow up practices.
- Practices appropriate utilization of the organization’s resources.
- Leads ward rounds; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis.
- Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion.
- Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required.
- Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input.
- Actively participates in multi disciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe and holistic care.
- Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent.
- Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from Emergency Department, primary care, other departments, specialty clinics, walk in patients, and other hospitals.
- Participates in and supports Consultant Physician in ensuring provision of out of hours on call coverage on a rotational basis.
Qualifications
- Qualifications from Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3.
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Emergency Medicine.
- MRCEM/ Fellowship or additional certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Minimum of 5 years of post specialization experience in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility.
- Fluency in Arabic language is preferred.
