Responsibilities
- Maintain food handling and sanitation standards
- Perform all duties of culinary and kitchen related employees during peak periods
- Supervise the preparation and presentation of cooked food
- Ensure employees keep work areas clean and sanitary
- Coordinate with restaurant and banquet departments to coordinate service and timing of banquets/meetings and meals
- Adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures
- Strive to improve service performance
- Communicate areas in need of attention to staff and follow up to ensure understanding
- Lead shifts while personally preparing food and executing requests according to required specifications
- Regularly prepare and cook or prepare and cook various types of food for special guests or occasions
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation
- Inspect the quality of raw and cooked food to ensure standards are met
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years kitchen, food and beverage, or related professional experience
- OR Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field; 2 years kitchen, food and beverage, or related professional experience
