Role Overview
Lead pastry operations while personally preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas.
Improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining operating budgets and culinary standards.
Develop and train the pastry team to improve results and ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or a related professional area is one accepted pathway.
- A 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major plus 2 years of relevant experience is an alternative pathway.
- The role requires knowledge of food safety, sanitation, handling, storage, and temperature standards.
Leading the Pastry Culinary Team
- Supervise employees and manage daily pastry operations, including performing employee duties when needed.
- Lead shifts while preparing food items and executing requests according to required specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
- Build trust, cooperation, accountability, productivity, and open communication among team members.
