At Parsons, you can imagine a career where you thrive, work with exceptional people, and be yourself.
Guided by our leadership vision of valuing people, embracing agility, and fostering growth, we cultivate an innovative culture that empowers you to achieve your full potential.
Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible. **Job Description:**
Parsons is seeking a **Solution Architect** to support the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale Geospatial Digital Twin programme for a major national infrastructure owner in the Middle East.
This multi-year initiative will design, build, and operationalize an Operational Digital Twin platform that integrates geospatial data, real-time IoT/SCADA feeds, asset information, and core enterprise systems to enable data-driven planning, operations, and maintenance.
The role will work closely with the Product Manager and a team of international experts, architects, developers, and engineers.
The scope spans discovery and stakeholder engagement, architecture and design, proof-of-concept delivery, implementation of a production-grade environment, post-implementation support, and structured training and knowledge transfer. The Solution Architect will help define and validate the end-to-end solution architecture, coordinate application, integration, and data design, support non-functional requirements and security, and assist in ensuring that the Digital Twin platform is scalable, robust, and aligned with enterprise and operational needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the Product Manager in defining and maintaining the end-to-end solution architecture for the Operational Digital Twin across discovery, PoC, implementation, and post-implementation support phases.
- Assist in translating business and use-case requirements into logical and physical architectures, including application, integration, data, and infrastructure views.
- Help guide the design of key platform components (web and GIS applications, APIs, data services, analytics/AI components) and ensure that they are cohesive, reusable, and aligned with agreed architecture principles and patterns.
- Support the Integration Lead, Programmers, and other technical resources in defining and implementing integration approaches between the Digital Twin and enterprise/operational systems (e.g., EAM/CMMS, ERP, BIM, SCADA/IoT, GIS, data platforms).
- Assist in defining and validating non-functional requirements (performance, availability, scalability, security, resilience) and in coordinating related design and testing activities with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams.
- Help prepare and maintain architecture documentation, interface specifications, and design decision records, and support design reviews and technical governance with Parsons and client stakeholders.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
- Experience contributing to solution design or architecture for large-scale digital, platform, or integration-heavy solutions, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or urban environments.
- Working knowledge of multi-tier and cloud-based architectures, APIs and integrations, data platforms, and web/GIS applications.
- Basic understanding of enterprise and operational systems such as EAM/CMMS, ERP, BIM, SCADA/IoT platforms, GIS, and data warehouses/lakes, and how they interact within an enterprise landscape.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and to common architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven integration, API-led connectivity).
- Experience working within multidisciplinary, multinational teams across multiple time zones.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and coordination skills, with some experience in structured project or delivery environments (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile/Hybrid).
- Exposure to testing, acceptance, or go-live activities for complex or integrated solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate architectural options and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
- Prior work with national infrastructure owners, transport authorities, utilities, or public works organisations.
- Experience working on Digital Twin, smart city, or large-scale geospatial programmes.
- Familiarity with security and data-governance considerations in solution architecture, and experience collaborating with cybersecurity and data-governance teams.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, containerisation, and DevOps practices for deploying and operating complex platforms.
- Professional certifications in architecture or cloud technologies (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect).
- Parsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.
- We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
