Role overview

Essential duties

• Support Store Management and supervise store staff on the sales floor when a manager is absent.
• Drive sales through customer engagement, selling, sales-floor presence, and partnership with Sales Associates.
• Hold store keys and open or close the store without management when necessary.
• Manage break schedules, ensure zone coverage, and provide coaching and feedback to associates.
• Support merchandise presentation, signage, displays, store security, and loss-prevention compliance.
• Process returns and exchanges and authorize discounts and employee sales when a manager is absent.
• Maintain inventory-management procedures and escalate performance concerns to the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• At least one year of keyholder experience in a retail setting is preferred.
• Availability is required on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with two weekly store closings including one Friday or Saturday closing.
• Ability to use retail POS systems and inventory scanners and make change using American monetary units.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to complete detailed tasks with minimal direction and build positive working relationships.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds safely and perform repeated loading, unloading, stocking, and merchandising activities.
• Completion of the Shift Supervisor three-month training program.

Physical and store environment

• The role requires extended standing and walking, overhead reaching, bending, kneeling, ladder or step-stool use, repetitive motions, and regular lifting and handling of boxes.
• The store environment is usually moderate to loud and requires professional handling of difficult customer interactions.
