Shift Senior Electrical Technician

is responsible for executing electrical maintenance activities within the Steel Melting Plant during assigned shifts.

The role ensures that all preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards to maximize plant availability and minimize downtime and cost.

The position requires close coordination with production and technical teams to support continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults to minimize plant downtime.
  • Apply condition monitoring techniques to prevent equipment failures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, risk assessments, and maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate with production teams to plan shutdowns and maintenance schedules.
  • Supervise, guide, and support technicians, including training and skill development.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS/SAP systems.
  • Support spare parts management and ensure availability of critical components.
  • Review maintenance performance, analyze trends, and implement improvement actions.
  • Assist in budgeting activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Support plant upgrades, expansions, and cleanliness standards.
  • **Qualifications & Experience**
  • Diploma or Trade Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a steel plant, preferably in Steel Melting and Billet Casting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, including substations, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, drives, and motors.
  • Familiarity with automation systems and CMMS (preferably SAP).
  • Experience in troubleshooting, fault analysis, and maintenance planning.
