Role Overview
The Area or Shift Manager leads a large and diverse team and helps an Amazon Logistics operational area keep pace with demand.
The role is hands-on and focuses on team leadership, safety, productivity, process efficiency, and operational performance.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing.
- Analyse performance and implement corrective actions to maintain quality, productivity, and business objectives across shifts.
- Support and lead a team while completing administrative work and building team culture.
- Recommend process improvements and collaborate with managers to standardise shift processes.
A Day in the Life
- The manager works shifts and is based at an operational site.
- Daily work includes maintaining safety standards, monitoring process efficiency, team management, operational tasks, escalations, process improvement, and contingency planning.
- The role involves working with internal teams, external partners, business leaders, and engineers to meet customer demands and targets.
