Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Senior Wet Engineer
to join our team!
The Senior Wet Utilities Engineer will play a key role in the successful delivery of wet utility infrastructure for a major airport airfield development project.
The position requires strong technical expertise, multidisciplinary coordination skills, and practical experience across design, construction, and stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will ensure that all wet utility systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, supporting the overall success of the airport program.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the review, development, and coordination of wet utility designs for airfield and airport infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local authority requirements, airport regulations, and client specifications.
- Review engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses, technical reports, drawings, and design submissions.
- Support value engineering initiatives and optimize utility system designs for efficiency, sustainability, and operational reliability.
- Oversee the design and coordination of potable water distribution networks serving airport facilities and airfield infrastructure.
- Review hydraulic models and system performance analyses to ensure adequate pressure, flow, and redundancy.
- Coordinate the design and integration of firefighting water networks, hydrant systems, pumping stations, reservoirs, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with aviation safety requirements and fire protection standards.
- Lead the design review and coordination of stormwater drainage systems, including airfield surface drainage, culverts, channels, detention facilities, and outfalls.
- Review sewerage collection systems, pumping stations, and wastewater infrastructure.
- Ensure proper integration of drainage systems with airfield grading, pavements, and operational requirements.
- Assess flood mitigation measures and drainage capacity requirements for airport operations.
- Provide engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of wet utility systems.
- Review contractor shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical queries.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve technical issues affecting project delivery and utility performance.
- Coordinate with airport authorities, utility providers, government agencies, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Support utility approvals, permitting processes, and regulatory submissions.
- Participate in technical workshops, design review meetings, and multidisciplinary coordination sessions.
- Ensure all utility interfaces are properly managed and integrated across the project.
- Coordinate closely with civil, airfield, structural, electrical, mechanical, ICT, and architectural disciplines.
- Review utility clashes and support design optimization through BIM and digital engineering platforms.
- Ensure effective integration of wet utility systems within the overall airport infrastructure program.
- Facilitate timely resolution of interface issues between contractors and stakeholders.
- Ensure all wet utility works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality reviews.
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved procedures and construction methodologies.
- Support implementation of quality management and continuous improvement
- Prepare and review technical reports, design assessments, engineering recommendations, and progress updates.
- Maintain accurate records of design reviews, approvals, technical decisions, and site observations.
- Provide regular updates to project management regarding engineering progress, risks, and technical issues.
- Support preparation of project closeout documentation and asset handover requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout all project activities.
- Ensure wet utility designs and construction activities comply with airport safety regulations and HSE requirements.
- Support risk assessments, constructability reviews, and safety-in-design initiatives.
- Contribute to sustainable infrastructure solutions and environmental compliance objectives.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
- Master’s Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in wet utilities engineering, design, and construction supervision.
- Proven experience on major airport, airfield, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in potable water, firefighting, stormwater drainage, sewerage, and irrigation systems.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of wet utility design standards, codes, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, InfoWorks, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with BIM platforms and multidisciplinary design coordination processes.
- Strong understanding of airport infrastructure and airfield operational requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical review capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent professional registration.
- Experience with international airport development projects and airfield utility systems.
- Knowledge of ICAO, FAA, NFPA, and other aviation-related design standards.
- Experience working under FIDIC or similar international contract frameworks.
- Familiarity with sustainable water management, resilience planning, and environmental compliance.
- Experience supporting design-build and EPC project delivery models.
- Strong stakeholder management and authority liaison experience.
