The Manufacturing/Tooling Engineering function will be responsible for technical tooling work from design, calculation, tooling preparation, documentation, and verification.
The function is also accountable for tooling engineering development, tooling techniques, and qualification of new tools based on specific requirements.

Job Description:

As Saab continues to expand their team in West Lafayette, IN, we are seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer who is interested in further developing knowledge in manufacturing technology. The Manufacturing/Tooling Engineering function will be responsible for technical tooling work from design, calculation, tooling preparation, documentation, and verification. The function is also accountable for tooling engineering development, tooling techniques, and qualification of new tools based on specific requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Contribute to the development of production systems and working methods, influencing the design work to achieve low production costs without compromising function, safety and quality.
Develop new technical solutions and contribute to the development of efficient production systems and assembly lines based on Lean principles.
Deploy advanced tooling options where they can be effectively leveraged.
