• Applications et systèmes d'IA : développement backend moderne, idéalement en Python et Node.js; plateformes infonuagiques comme GCP; conception et déploiement de solutions d'IA/apprentissage automatique, particulièrement avec de grands modèles de langage; et intégrations d'API tierces.
• Technologies web et navigateur de bas niveau : expertise approfondie en JavaScript/TypeScript, optimisation de la performance des navigateurs, manipulation du DOM, modèles de sécurité des navigateurs et protocoles réseau.
• Capacité démontrée à diriger, encadrer et faire progresser des équipes d'ingénierie diversifiées, en soutenant la croissance de développeur·euse·s aux spécialisations variées.
• Excellentes habiletés de communication et interpersonnelles, avec la capacité de collaborer de façon transversale et de traduire des détails techniques complexes en informations claires et exploitables.
• Habiletés de résolution de problèmes créatives et pragmatiques, avec la capacité de prendre des décisions d'architecture judicieuses qui équilibrent les besoins immédiats du produit avec la santé et l'évolutivité à long terme de la plateforme.
• Capacité démontrée à équilibrer l'implication technique concrète avec le leadership de haut niveau et la responsabilité des résultats.
• Une expérience dans un environnement de démarrage ou de scale-up agile et à rythme rapide est fortement valorisée.

Position overview

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Senior Technical Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team working across Stay22’s diverse product and platform initiatives.

In this role, you will manage 2 squads with a total of 5-8 developers with diverse profiles and oversee project execution and delivery.

You will balance people leadership, strategic direction, and hands-on technical work.

Roughly 20% of your time will involve code reviews, architecture discussions, and coding small features or fixes.

This hands-on involvement is critical for maintaining credibility and providing effective mentorship to engineers working on specialized technical challenges.

Working closely with the Product Management team, you’ll translate an ambitious roadmap into actionable plans and guide your team to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions.

Reporting directly to our Head of Engineering, you will be a key member of the engineering leadership team — coaching and growing engineers, unblocking complex technical challenges, and ensuring our platform services are robust, scalable, and high quality.

• Build and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Adapt your leadership style to support diverse technical profiles, including systems specialists and full-stack product engineers focused on AI applications and user workflows.
• Lead Agile ceremonies and continuously improve team workflows, communication, and productivity.
• Encourage innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage new technologies or process improvements, championing those initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Supervise the development of automated pipelines using Python on GCP, including the use of large language models to analyze video content and identify affiliate opportunities.
• Guide integrations with social platform APIs to retrieve and programmatically update video content, metadata, and transcripts.
• Design and oversee seamless, user-facing workflows for social integrations, including account linking, analytics review, and content management.
• Oversee end-to-end project execution, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality features aligned with business goals.
• Set the technical direction for our browser-level infrastructure and lead architecture and design reviews for script lifecycle performance, DOM automation, and iframe-handling strategies.
• Lead critical technology decisions involving privacy-conscious browser fingerprinting, session management, and user identification systems that respect evolving standards.
• Ensure the health and scalability of core services through testing, monitoring, alerting, proactive technical-debt management, and performance improvements.
• Remain actively involved in the codebase through thorough code reviews, architectural guidance, and occasional development of critical features or bug fixes, representing approximately 20% of your time.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to refine requirements, prioritize roadmaps, and align engineering efforts with business goals.
• Act as the main point of contact for senior leadership, regularly communicating project status, technical decisions, team progress, and risks.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to share libraries, platform capabilities, and performance data when needed.

• English proficiency is required for daily communication with international colleagues and direct reports.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, including at least 4+ years in an engineering leadership or management role, with a track record of delivering complex, scalable, and reliable systems.
• A strong technical background across both of the following domains:

• Application and AI systems: modern backend development, preferably Python and Node.js; cloud platforms such as GCP; building and deploying AI/ML solutions, especially using large language models; and third-party API integrations.

• Low-level Web and browser technologies: deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, browser performance optimization, DOM manipulation, browser security models, and networking protocols.

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse engineering teams, supporting the growth of developers with different areas of specialization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate complex technical details into clear, actionable insights.
• Creative and pragmatic problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound architectural decisions that balance immediate product needs with long-term platform health and scalability.
• Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with high-level leadership and accountability for outcomes.
• Experience in a fast-paced, agile startup or scale-up environment is highly valued.
