Role Purpose

  • Mair Group is seeking Senior Tax Specialist who will support the Head of Tax in managing the Group’s direct and indirect tax affairs, ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, reducing tax leakages, mitigating tax risks, and identifying tax planning opportunities across the

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file all tax returns, including Corporate Tax and VAT.
  • Prepare tax reports and analyses for management.
  • Review contracts and intercompany agreements to reduce tax leakages and support proper tax structuring.
  • Assist in implementing tax efficient domestic structures and tax planning initiatives.
  • Monitor tax law changes and assess their impact on the Group.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors on tax compliance and technical matters.
  • Ensure subsidiaries comply with indirect tax requirements, including invoicing standards.
  • Communicate and support compliance with tax policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support corporate initiatives by assessing tax implications of business activities and transactions.
  • Perform special tax projects and other duties assigned by the Head of Tax or management.

Key Deliverables

  • Accurate and timely corporate tax and VAT filings, reconciled to GL.
  • Monthly/quarterly tax provisioning pack and deferred tax schedules.
  • Tax risk register and mitigation plan (Retail + Real Estate).
  • Audit ready documentation set and controls evidence.
  • Improved tax process efficiency and reduced tax leakage.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field (Master’s a plus).
  • Professional certification preferred: ACCA / CPA / CA / CTA (or equivalent).
  • 4 6 years of relevant tax experience, including exposure to VAT/indirect tax and corporate tax.
  • Strong experience in either Retail (FMCG/Grocery) and/or Real Estate—ideally both.
  • Hands on capability with ERP environments (SAP or equivalent), reconciliations, and data analysis in Excel.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical tax knowledge with practical business application (contracts, pricing, operations).
  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with non finance stakeholders (Ops, Leasing, Procurement).
  • Proactive risk mindset; comfortable handling audits and ambiguity.
  • Strong ownership, time management, and ability to work across multiple entities/business lines.
