About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly experienced Senior System Administrator / L3 Infrastructure Engineer to own the end to end availability, performance, security, and scalability of our hybrid infrastructure supporting a 24x7 e commerce environment.
  • As the senior most infrastructure engineer, you will independently manage Azure and on premises environments, ensuring platform reliability across compute, storage, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and core Windows/Linux services.
  • This role serves as the primary L3 escalation point, leading infrastructure upgrades, migrations, automation initiatives, and operational excellence while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end to end operations of hybrid infrastructure (Azure and on premises), including compute, storage, virtualization, networking, and platform reliability.
  • Independently manage the lifecycle of 100–200+ servers, including provisioning, hardening, configuration, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File Services, IIS, clustering, and server performance management.
  • Administer Linux/Unix servers, including OS hardening, patching, service management, user administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, RBAC, Microsoft Entra ID, monitoring, backup, governance, and cost optimization.
  • Plan and execute operating system patching and vulnerability remediation while ensuring compliance with maintenance windows and change management processes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies, perform restore testing, and ensure compliance with RPO/RTO objectives.
  • Administer enterprise backup solutions, including backup policy configuration, repository management, retention, restore validation, and backup health monitoring.
  • Manage enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS and cloud storage), including capacity planning, replication, snapshots, performance tuning, and storage availability.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, failover/failback procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, and performance, proactively optimizing resource utilization and scalability.
  • Plan and execute cloud to on premises and on premises to cloud migrations, including dependency analysis, cutover planning, rollback strategies, and post migration validation.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Proven experience managing hybrid Microsoft Azure and on premises infrastructure environments.
  • Experience independently administering 250+ Windows and Linux servers.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure IaaS, including compute, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, governance, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Advanced Windows Server administration experience, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, clustering, and enterprise troubleshooting.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration experience across Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE, or equivalent platforms.
  • Hands on experience with VMware and/or Hyper V virtualization platforms.
  • Experience managing SAN/NAS storage, replication, snapshots, storage performance, and capacity planning.
  • Experience administering enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam, Azure Backup, or equivalent, including restore testing and disaster recovery.
  • Strong understanding of patch management, vulnerability remediation, security hardening, and change management processes.
  • Experience planning and executing cloud migrations, server relocations, and production infrastructure upgrades.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ 104) or equivalent (Required)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ 305) (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ 500) or Microsoft Security (SC series) certification (Preferred)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Hyper V Certification (Preferred)
  • Veeam Backup & Replication Certification (VMCE) or equivalent Backup/Disaster Recovery certification (Preferred)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (Preferred)
