Responsibilities
- Drive business growth and origination for the assigned geography (Africa)
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with strategic internal stakeholders and financial institutions
- Ensure proper understanding and compliance of regulations applicable to each transaction
- Read lengthy documents to understand and articulate structures; challenge stakeholders with market data and finalize negotiations
- Develop deep knowledge of customer business strategy and explore new customers/industries related to trade in the assigned geography
- Collaborate with functional and trading teams to develop new products/origination opportunities
- Develop deep understanding of all funding structures and market them to new and existing financial institutions
- Develop and structure complex financing origination proposals that maximize value optimization
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience; CFA/MBA Finance preferred
- Sound knowledge of trade finance and treasury products
- Good understanding of corporate finance, bank instruments, and trade finance/treasury products through prior work in corporate, trade, or FI business division of banks
- Ability to understand and analyze corporate and financial institution financial statements
- Highly numerate with ability to understand financial products and transactions
- Basic understanding of Forex and Islamic Banking
- Minimum of ten years of related work experience
- Fluent in English

Job Description
- The STF Originator Africa, Structured Trade Finance, is a leadership role driving business growth and origination for the assigned geography.
- Lead development of new business opportunities and existing relationships with banks and corporates.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with strategic internal stakeholders and financial institutions.
- Ensure proper understanding and compliance of regulations applicable to each transaction.
- Read lengthy documents to understand and articulate structures; challenge stakeholders with market data and finalize negotiations.
- Develop deep knowledge of customer business strategy and explore new customers/industries related to trade.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/CFA/Qualified Finance Professional from an institute of repute along with trade related certifications.
- Should be in a customer facing role working closely with senior management.
- Originated moderately complex financial transactions with banks and corporates.
- Comprehensive understanding of the assigned geography's financial business landscape and corresponding business risks.
- Good existing relationship with major banks & institutions in Africa.
