Job Title: SAP Basis & Cloud ALM Technical Engineer Position: Senior Software Engineer Experience: 6 to 9 Years Category: IT Infrastructure Job location: Bangalore joyn - J0726-1918 Employment Type: Full Time Job Description: Job Summary: The SAP Basis & Cloud ALM Technical Engineer is responsible for operational support in SAP S/4HANA deployments and supporting, administering and optimizing SAP technical platforms and SAP Cloud ALM in a post go-live application maintenance environment. Collaborates within a global team and works closely with business stakeholders, partners and cross-functional teams to ensure stable, secure and high-performing SAP landscapes. The role focuses on technical operations, monitoring, release management, transport management, system stability and continuous improvement. In addition to supporting SAP S/4HANA deployments, the role will also provide technical support for SAP ECC landscapes where required. Key Areas of Responsibility • Support SAP Basis and SAP Cloud ALM activities aligned to the global template and deploy the global SAP S/4HANA implementation on a local level while providing technical support for SAP ECC landscapes where required. • Perform administration, monitoring and maintenance of SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA Database and supporting technical components. • Configure and support SAP Cloud ALM for Business Process Monitoring, Health Monitoring, Integration Monitoring, Job & Automation Monitoring and Alert Management. • Configure and support SAP Cloud ALM Change & Deployment Management, including Release Calendar Management, Release Planning, Deployment Planning, Transport Management, Transport Orchestration, Deployment Tracking and Release Execution across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA landscapes. • Perform system installations, upgrades, kernel upgrades, support package implementation, client administration, system refreshes and transport management activities. • Support SAP landscape maintenance activities including maintenance windows, transport sequencing, technical cutovers, production deployments and post-deployment validation. • Monitor and optimize SAP system performance, database growth, workload distribution, memory utilization and capacity planning. • Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, high availability and archiving activities. • Support SAP S/4HANA deployment activities including technical readiness, system migrations, cutover planning, go-live and hypercare support. • Collaborate with Functional Consultants, Infrastructure, Security, Network, Database and AMS partners to ensure stable SAP operations. • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, monitoring dashboards and knowledge articles. Critical Experiences and Skills • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field. • Hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration across SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA landscapes. • Strong technical knowledge of SAP Basis Administration, SAP HANA Database, Transport Management System (TMS), Client Administration, Kernel Upgrades, Support Package implementation, Performance Tuning and System Administration. • Hands-on experience with SAP Cloud ALM, including Business Process Monitoring, Health Monitoring, Integration Monitoring, Job & Automation Monitoring, Alert Management, Change & Deployment Management, Release Calendar Management, Release Management, Transport Management and Transport Orchestration. • Experience supporting SAP landscape maintenance activities including maintenance windows, transport sequencing, production deployments and technical cutovers. • Experience working in a global application maintenance support environment. • Good understanding of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Backup & Recovery, SAP Security and SAP system architecture. • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA deployment, technical migration and HANA database administration. • Experience working with cloud-hosted SAP environments (Azure, AWS or GCP) is an advantage. • SAP Basis, SAP HANA Administration and/or SAP Cloud ALM certification is an advantage. • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. • Ability to work effectively in a global, complex and highly integrated business environment. Grading Differentiators • Good knowledge of SAP Basis Administration, SAP Cloud ALM and SAP HANA platform. • Operates independently within assigned technical scope and delivers with limited supervision. • Able to resolve moderately complex technical issues across integrated SAP landscapes. • Contributes effectively to support, enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives.
