What You Will Do
- Provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas
- Responsible for performing in depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
- Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications
- Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs
- Designs, codes, tests and implements tools for operations automation
- Interfaces with other systems support groups to resolve problems, set standards and improve overall efficiency of the operating system
- Developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
- Experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines and configuration
Qualifications You Must Have
- Experience using Java and with agile development methodologies
- Ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment
- Knowledge of software practices and coding standards
- Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired)
- Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to review performance and operational issues, identify root cause, recommend, design and implement a solution
- Use of common software development and management tools such as maven, GitHub, nexus and Eclipse
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Command and control system application development Previous experience with message translation software Automated test and pipeline development experience
- Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience using Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms for scheduling, task management, and tracking project progress
- Agile Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding and application of Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, for iterative development and team collaboration
- Risk Management: Skilled in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing proactive solutions to ensure project success
- Requirements Management: Experience in decomposing, prioritizing, and managing technical and functional requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Cross Functional Leadership: Proven ability to collaborate with multi disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and program leadership to achieve objectives
