Position Description: We are looking for an experienced .Net Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about coding and developing scalable and high-performance applications. This role requires strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft technology stack, Azure cloud services, application integration, database development, and modern DevOps practices. The engineer will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, quality assurance teams, and production support teams to deliver reliable technology solutions in a highly regulated financial-services environment. #LI-MP14
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications using .NET MVC and/or .NET Core. • Build and maintain secure, scalable solutions using Microsoft Azure cloud services. • Develop and enhance application integrations, APIs, batch processes, and data pipelines. • Implement secure application authentication and authorization using Microsoft Entra ID / Azure Active Directory. • Configure and manage application secrets, certificates, and credentials using Azure Key Vault. • Develop and support applications hosted through Azure App Services. • Design, develop, and maintain data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Services. • Build and maintain automated build, test, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. • Design and develop database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, including complex queries, data models, functions, and stored procedures. • Troubleshoot application, integration, database, and production-support issues. • Perform code reviews and promote software engineering standards, secure coding practices, and reusable design patterns. • Participate in solution design, technical estimation, sprint planning, and Agile delivery activities. • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational support materials. • Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, data, and business teams to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements. • Support application modernization and cloud adoption initiatives across the Corporate Banking technology portfolio. • Ensure solutions align with CIBC technology standards, risk controls, security requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Must-Have Skills: • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. • Strong professional experience developing enterprise applications using: o .NET MVC o .NET Core / ASP.NET Core o C# • Hands-on experience with the following Microsoft Azure services: o Azure Key Vault o Azure App Services o Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID authentication o Azure Data Factory o Azure Data Lake Services o Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including: o SQL development o Stored procedures o Query optimization o Data analysis and troubleshooting • Experience developing and supporting APIs, application integrations, and distributed systems. • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software development best practices. • Experience with source control, automated deployments, release management, and environment configuration. • Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, secrets management, and secure coding practices. • Experience supporting applications through the full software development lifecycle, including production implementation and incident resolution. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Good-to-Have Skills: • Experience developing modern user interfaces using React. • Knowledge or hands-on experience with Databricks. • Experience with Azure API Management. • Experience configuring or supporting Azure Virtual Machines. • Experience developing automation and deployment scripts using PowerShell. • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures. • Experience with automated unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development. • Familiarity with application monitoring, logging, and observability tools. • Previous experience working within banking, capital markets, commercial banking, corporate banking, or another regulated financial-services environment. • Understanding of corporate banking products, credit processes, lending workflows, client onboarding, or related business processes.
