Role overview
Affirm's Money Movement and Card Ledger team builds tools and systems for money movement, bank data integration, and merchant data.
The role contributes to Affirm Card, a financial product combining debit card functionality with buy now pay later financing.
The work requires technically correct, scalable, and extensible money movement systems.
What you will do
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team.
- Lead engineers through ambiguous problems and support them throughout delivery.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation and product decisions.
- Identify and resolve project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Monitor operational availability using metrics, escalation, and on-call support.
- Set and improve code review and design standards.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leadership by example.
What we look for
- At least 4 years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience with Python or Kotlin and highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
