Job Purpose
Join an agile feature team as a senior software engineer supporting software solutions and products for the Emirates Group.
The role involves technical design, software development, implementation, maintenance, and production problem resolution.
Responsibilities
- Analyze technical application requirements and contribute to technical design.
- Convert solutions for small to medium-sized initiatives into low-level designs and working code.
- Write secure and optimized code using approved coding standards.
- Participate in rotational on-call support and resolve production issues within SLAs.
- Deliver built-in quality and 100% unit testing in the CI/CD pipeline.
- Fix defects, reduce code debt, and implement logging and monitoring hooks.
- Stay current with relevant technologies and contribute to engineering standards and playbooks.
Qualifications
- A relevant degree or honours qualification equivalent to 12+3 years is required.
- At least 3 years of backend application development experience is required, primarily in Java 8 or later with microservices capability.
- Relevant fields include Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, and Software Engineering.
Technical Skills
- Backend technologies include Django, Django REST Framework, GraphQL, restQL, Solace, Gunicorn, and NGINX.
- Data engineering and big data frameworks include Apache Beam, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Airflow, and Ray.
- Data science and machine learning tools include SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Anaconda, and Conda environments.
- Automation testing uses PyTest.
- Quality and standards include SonarQube and PEP8.
- Monitoring and observability use Dynatrace.
