Company Overview

Open Innovation AI develops solutions for managing AI workloads through its Open Innovation Cluster Manager platform.

The platform orchestrates AI tasks across diverse infrastructures, supports GPUs and accelerators, and enables enterprise integration and scalability.

Role Overview

Own how the platform moves from source code to a validated, shippable product through an air-gapped build pipeline.

Own the automated release-validation gate that installs a full cluster from bare metal and tests in-place upgrades.

This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on maintainable software, quality gates, documented release processes, and release-engineering practice growth.

This is an internal engineering role with no customer travel or on-site work.

Responsibilities

  • Own Packer-built hardened OS images, the installer ISO, container and Helm bundles, offline package and registry mirrors, and the Ansible execution environment.
  • Build release validation that provisions a full cluster and exercises an in-place upgrade for every release candidate.
  • Cut self-contained offline releases and own CI, security-patch response, registry caches, and artifact servers.
  • Document ADRs, build runbooks, and release procedures so other engineers can cut and troubleshoot releases.
  • Harden the release process with the Head of Infrastructure.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Fluent Bash and Python automation experience with maintainable tooling.
  • Deep Linux expertise covering packaging, image building, system services, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong Docker or OCI, Helm, Ansible, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and integration-testing experience.
  • Experience with reproducible release packaging and air-gapped or offline delivery.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; storage, networking, and GPU expertise are not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience packaging or validating GPU- or RDMA-enabled Kubernetes stacks.
  • Experience with artifact signing, provenance, SBOMs, or other software supply-chain security practices.
  • Experience with self-hosted or on-premises product distribution.

First 90 Days Success

  • The release-validation gate runs automatically for each release candidate, covering green-field installation and in-place upgrade.
  • Releases are cut through a repeatable pipeline, deployment-blocking issues are caught before customer delivery, and builds are reproducible.
  • Pipeline documentation and runbooks enable another engineer to cut and validate releases independently.
