Role Overview
The Senior Product Design Engineer leads the design, development, testing, and optimization of new and existing products.
The role transforms customer and business requirements into reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product design and development from concept through production and commercialization.
- Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Conduct design analysis, simulations, tolerance analysis, and engineering evaluations.
- Select materials, components, manufacturing processes, and design solutions.
- Develop prototypes and coordinate testing, validation, and product qualification.
- Analyze performance, resolve design weaknesses, and implement engineering improvements.
- Lead design reviews, technical evaluations, engineering changes, and lifecycle documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Support DFM, DFA, design-for-cost, reliability, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in product design, mechanical engineering, product development, or a related engineering discipline.
