Role overview
The Senior Procurement Engineer leads technical and commercial procurement of MEP materials and services across major building and infrastructure projects.
The role drives supplier strategy, cost and risk control, and operational and technical support in a construction environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical and commercial evaluation of bids, tenders, and comparison sheets against engineering specifications and project requirements.
- Develop procurement strategies for major project packages and manage high-value supplier negotiations and framework agreements.
- Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, and Project Management teams to resolve technical queries and clear submittals.
- Ensure procurement technical files, compliance records, and contract terms comply with company procedures and project specifications.
- Maintain procurement status reports, milestone tracking, and commercial evaluations for assigned packages.
Experience and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- At least 8 years of procurement experience in construction or contracting, with senior-level exposure on large-scale projects.
- Proven track record in Qatar or the GCC.
- Strong technical reporting, data synthesis, and package status tracking capabilities.
- Strong command of supplier markets, construction materials, engineering submittals, and contract terms.
- Proficiency in ERP or procurement systems and advanced MS Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
