- This is a hybrid role based in Philadelphia and associated with the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office.
Position Summary
Own the end-to-end technical architecture of Bentley's developer platform, including developer experience, API gateway, standards, authentication, metering, and billing infrastructure.
The role is a hands-on technical leadership position involving architectural direction, production coding, pull request reviews, and senior technical decision-making.
Work with Product and engineering teams across the API portfolio to establish API design standards, security models, and integration patterns.
Responsibilities
- Define the developer platform architecture, including API gateway, authentication, metering, billing integration, and settlement.
- Own platform architecture from developer experience through registry, commercialization, adoption, support, monitoring, and analytics.
- Develop API standards and governance, including telemetry schemas, listing requirements, security patterns, and integration patterns.
- Establish IMS OAuth as the standard authentication model and document migration paths for existing APIs.
