About the Role
The Senior Pharmacist is responsible for the safe and effective dispensation and medication management within any assigned JHAH premises.
Performs comprehensive assessments, analysis, and recommendations of specific disease management or drug therapy in collaboration with patient care team members or based on approved disease/pharmacotherapy management protocols and per JHAH policies and clinical guidelines.
Accountable for on-going evaluation and documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care to optimize patient safety and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Process all applicable medication order related functionalities at assigned units as per JHAH operational policies.
- Perform sterilenon sterile compounding related functionalities at assigned units as per JHAH operational policies.
- Perform medication stock continuity management functionalities including but not limited to stock replenishment on a regular basis.
- Provide specialized didactic and practical education to pharmacy staff, Pharmacy interns, Pharmacy residents and other health care professionals.
- Precept pharmacy interns and residents.
- Set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergent continuity of care situations.
- Participate in service wide implementation of performance and outcome improvement initiatives to optimize organizational effectiveness, efficiency and digital transformation.
- Conduct and participate in JHAH pharmacy branding activities including but not limited to publishing articles, publishing posters, serving as speaker in conferences, participating in community awareness activities to enhance advancement of JHAH pharmacy profession.
- Serve as pharmacy representative for the assigned quality improvement teams, unit based safety projects or JHAH committees.

Requirements
- Experience in pharmacy management and clinical protocols.
- Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and recommendations.
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication skills to provide specialized education to pharmacy staff.
- Experience in pharmaceutical care.
- Experience in patient care.
- Experience in medication stock continuity management.
- Experience in sterilenon sterile compounding.
- Experience in precepting pharmacy interns and residents.
