Role Overview

Strategic Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving nursing practices in the assigned unit.
• Participate in developing protocols and processes to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency.
• Pursue high staff engagement and obtain high patient experience.
• Achieve and sustain high-quality care and patient safety.
• Support nurse empowerment through the JHAH Nursing Professional Practice Model.

Operational Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care focused on complex cases.
• Assist with workflow management, resource utilization, and mentorship of junior nurses.
• Follow clinical protocols and participate in evaluating patient outcomes.
• Meet or maintain the mandated Level 3 Clinical Advancement Program minimum of 20 points in at least four categories during each 12-month cycle.
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document age-specific patient care from admission through discharge.
• Provide patient and family education consistent with the care plan and patient needs while respecting privacy, dignity, preferences, and culture.
• Precept new hires and trainees during probation and training and recommend actions regarding progress and training needs.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergency and lifesaving situations using clinical skills, critical thinking, and evidence-based practices.
• Perform nursing procedures in assigned emergency facilities with attention to accuracy, safety, comfort, and environmental order.

Requirements

• Achieve or maintain the mandated Level 3 Clinical Advancement Program activity minimum of 20 points across at least four categories during each 12-month cycle.
• Provide advanced-level nursing care for complex emergency cases.
• Maintain competence in emergency and lifesaving responses using clinical skills, critical thinking, and evidence-based practices.
