About the Role
GSSTech Group seeks a Senior Payments Engineer for cards acquiring systems in Dubai. You will own technical delivery of card platforms, manage integrations with global schemes, and ensure production stability.

Responsibilities
- Drive end to end technical delivery for card platforms, managing requirement analysis, systems design, and third party vendor integrations
- Lead technical execution across card lifecycle initiatives including payment processing, clearing, settlement, and chargeback workflows
- Collaborate within cross functional Agile squads to translate business requirements into secure, stable, and scalable payment solutions
- Design and maintain components supporting Cards Acquiring ecosystem, merchant processing frameworks, and payment gateways
- Oversee system integrations with global card schemes (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and regional payment networks
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transaction success rates and modernize merchant onboarding platforms
- Provide advanced technical oversight during SIT and UAT, resolving critical engineering defects
- Coordinate complex code release management activities ensuring zero downtime deployments
- Act as Tier 3 escalation point for production support, driving incident management and root cause analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Proven track record in a Senior Software or Product Engineering role focused on Cards and Payments systems within a Bank, Fintech, or PSP
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of Cards Issuing or Cards Acquiring platform engineering
- Solid hands on experience with merchant processing, POS/mPOS terminals, e commerce payment gateways, and clearing/settlement protocols
- Deep understanding of ISO 8583, AS2805, or EMV compliance frameworks
- Strong database skills (SQL/Oracle) and experience with backend application frameworks
- Strong experience working inside Agile/Scrum software delivery environments
- Familiarity with enterprise ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
- Understanding of PCI DSS security and compliance frameworks

Technical Specifications & Skills
