Role Overview

Avensys is seeking an experienced DBA Administrator specializing in Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.

The role requires 8+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and production support.

The successful candidate will support mission-critical production databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Administer users, roles, privileges, tablespaces, datafiles, schemas, indexes, and database objects.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and perform SQL and database performance tuning.
  • Manage Oracle RMAN, Data Pump, SQL Server backup and restore operations, and recovery processes.
  • Implement and support Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, replication, log shipping, and database mirroring.
  • Perform upgrades, migrations, patching, refreshes, cloning, and environment synchronization.
  • Monitor database health, capacity, storage, sessions, locks, jobs, and alerts.
  • Handle production incidents, root-cause analysis, problem management, and change activities under SLAs.
  • Implement security, access controls, auditing, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain monitoring, maintenance, backup, recovery procedures, technical documentation, and disaster recovery runbooks.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, development, and cloud teams to resolve database issues.

Required Technical Skills

  • Oracle skills include versions 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c or higher, RMAN, Data Pump, SQL*Loader, RAC, Data Guard, performance tuning, AWR/ASH, and database administration.
  • Microsoft SQL Server skills include versions 2012 through 2022, T-SQL, query optimization, Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, replication, log shipping, backup, restore, and recovery.
  • The role requires strong expertise in both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, particularly for production support, high availability, disaster recovery, upgrades, and security.

  • Experience with T-SQL, query optimization, Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, replication, and log shipping.
  • Experience with database monitoring, maintenance, backup, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery runbooks.
  • Experience implementing database security, access controls, auditing, and compliance standards.
