Role Overview

The employer is seeking an experienced Linux Administrator.

The role covers Linux and Unix server administration across production and non-production environments.

Experience and Technical Requirements

  • The role requires 8 or more years of experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and other Linux distributions is required.
  • Experience with shell scripting is required for automation and routine administration tasks.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability activities is required.
  • Experience with security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and operating system patch management is required.
  • Experience with DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and networking is required for infrastructure troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer Linux and Unix servers across production and non-production environments.
  • Perform server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, file systems, LVM, NFS, SSH, and system services.
  • Monitor server performance, capacity, availability, and system health.
  • Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, network, and application-related issues.
  • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability activities.
  • Perform security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and operating system patch management.
  • Handle incident, problem, and change management in production environments.
  • Maintain technical documentation and coordinate with application, database, and network teams.
