Overview
The Senior Officer Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) plays a key role in managing day-to-day baggage operations across all ADIA terminals.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily allocations, efficiently planning and managing BHS resources for both Arrivals and Departures, implementing contingency measures and business continuity plans, and coordinating maintenance schedules.
The role also involves conducting daily briefings with internal and external stakeholders, supporting BHS Contracts on maintenance procedures, ensuring uninterrupted baggage operations, making critical decisions during system breakdowns, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
The position is central to smooth airport operations and fostering positive relationships across teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive a team of BHS O&M supervisors and Control Room operators to achieve departmental goals.
- Provide timely and accurate BHS operations and system performance information to stakeholders.
- Oversee, support, and manage day-to-day BHS operations; report and escalate non-conformities.
- Ensure BHS and baggage operations comply with AD Airports policies, procedures, standards, and legal regulations.
- Proactively manage BHS operations and monitor resource utilization.
- Conduct regular inspections of BHS and baggage operation facilities for safety compliance.
- Attend operational meetings and provide critical information on BHS performance and baggage operations.
- Manage operational incidents (IROPS) and coordinate with stakeholders for seamless operations.
- Ensure optimal performance and availability of BHS systems.
- Schedule and implement preventive maintenance plans, ensuring smooth handover of works.
- Respond to major operational issues and implement contingency procedures as per BCP.
- Provide daily, weekly, and system breakdown statistics to BHS management.
- Comply with HSE policies, report hazards, and participate in HSE training.
- Manage shift team and provide regular feedback on staff performance.

Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in baggage system operations and ramp operations
