Description

Network Architecture and Design

• Define target architecture across LAN, WAN, data centers, and remote sites.
• Design VLAN, VRF, and microsegmentation strategies for IT, industrial, physical security, and guest environments.
• Design routing, switching, wireless, and interconnection solutions.
• Define redundancy and failover architectures for high availability.
• Maintain network topologies, addressing plans, flow matrices, cabling plans, and rack layouts.
• Evaluate technologies and vendors and lead proofs of concept.

Network Security and Resilience

• Define firewall policies, filtering rules, and inter-zone traffic controls.
• Design secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity using VPN, SD-WAN, and zero-trust access.
• Implement network access control and authentication using 802.1X, RADIUS, and certificate-based access.
• Support business continuity through redundant links, failover testing, and recovery procedures.
• Participate in security reviews, audits, and compliance initiatives such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.

Operations and Incident Management

• Improve network monitoring and alerting for availability, saturation, latency, packet loss, and hardware health.
• Define alert thresholds and escalation procedures.
• Lead complex network incident diagnosis and resolution as the final technical escalation point.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and establish corrective action plans.
• Plan and supervise maintenance windows, firmware upgrades, and equipment replacements.

Automation and Industrialization

• Standardize network device configurations across multiple sites.
• Define and enforce reproducible configuration baselines.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and compliance checks using Ansible or equivalent tools.
• Maintain configuration backups, change traceability, and rollback capabilities.
• Keep technical documentation consistent with deployed network infrastructure.

Coordination and Improvement

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, physical security, and field teams.
• Provide network expertise for new sites, data center changes, telephony, video surveillance, and industrial equipment projects.
• Report on network availability, service quality, and infrastructure programs.
• Monitor developments in networking, network security, and automation and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Networks, Telecommunications, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in network engineering or architecture.
• Experience managing multi-site and/or data center network environments.
• Experience designing and operating highly available network infrastructures.
• Experience working with critical production environments.
• CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
• English or French language capability is preferred.
